Some of the shops will be continued

A restart is planned for some of the stores of the insolvent Dutch sportswear retailers Perry Sport, Aktiensport and Sprinter.

The business will be continued by the British Frasers Group, insolvency administrator Kees van de Meent told the Dutch television station RTLZ.

Sports Unlimited Retail, the parent company of sports retailers, filed for bankruptcy in December. At this point the company consisted of 54 stores. Up to 20 of the stores will now continue to operate.

Clearance sales have been taking place in the Aktiensport, Perry Sport and Sprinter stores since the bankruptcy declaration. Only debit cards can be used in stores and various discounts are granted. Online orders can no longer be placed.

What will happen to the other stores in Sports Unlimited Retail’s portfolio is also unclear. In December, several interested parties contacted the insolvency administrator.

Van de Meent could not be reached at the time of publication. This translated and edited post previously appeared on FashionUnited.nl.
