Sointu Borg’s sled turned: She wants a child

Economist, entrepreneur and media personality Sointu Borg’s work situation is better than ever. He knows that it’s good to have more in life than work. Baby dreams have started to rear their heads.

The photo taken a year ago makes Sointu Borg, 30, startle and reminds us of the atmosphere of the time.

– You could see it in the face: it was completely gray and the look was hollow. I was riding too hard, says Borg.

– Now I feel better than I have in a long time. Those close to me have said that I am a better company and that is what I want to be, Borg continues.

Borg says that he only dreamed about this state of affairs last fall. Brazenly bold – How to smell the real shit? – audio book and Borg’s direct speech were in the headlines.

Borg was asked for more interviews than he would have had time for and more than he would have liked. Everyone wanted to know what really happened after the Diili victory.

– Autumn was quite heavy. Now I have made such a limit that I can’t bear to grind Jaajo (Linnonmaa) or Diili anymore. I have verbalized my own experience, says Borg.

Borg also does not want to overshadow the Diili season that is starting, but he hopes that the spotlight will be on the new competitors.

Borg still does not regret what he said, even though he has been warned about burning bridges and small entertainment and business circles.

– Meikälainen’s work situation is at least better than ever. It wasn’t to my detriment that verbalizing my own truth happened, even though I was warned. If you are honest with yourself and take care of your own plot, I don’t think it can be very fatal, Borg reflects.

Nor does Borg regret the Bimbo Oy program, for which he became famous at the age of 21. Borg describes reality as a product of its time.

– Many people who have such a “mixed reality” background or have been a star girl, try very hard to hide it. I don’t think you need to. It would be completely stupid for me to talk about my past self in a disparaging tone, says Borg.

Collective attitude change

Borg has noticed a big change in attitude in how people feel about him.

– It’s even humorous how that whole attitude has drawn a bull’s-eye. It tells about this society and culture that we now collectively decide that this person is really smart, Borg laughs.

The examples are vivid.

– People have been able to come and say shocking things and humiliate me, and then suddenly I’m a sought-after company and people praise me for how smart I am. I thought, “You didn’t think that way four years ago,” says Borg.

Borg knows how dynamically people’s attitude affects.

– But that’s exactly why I’m not going to shrink myself or hide my old bikini photos, I’m still posting them. It’s just that statement that there was nothing to be ashamed of in my mood.

Schoolwork

At the beginning of the year, Borg took over Tiktok and his “No niin nuoriso” videos have found their audience in no time. From the comment fields of Somekanava, Borg has been able to learn a whole new vocabulary, but maybe 14-year-olds will approach him with feedback, for example in Kannelmäki’s Prisma.

Borg thinks that he is easy to approach because of his cheerful nature. Borg’s biggest audience has long been young women. The new audience sometimes creates special situations for him.

– Sometimes I catch myself thinking sexist when a young trained man in a bar has approached. I’ve been thinking, okay, this is a situation where you have to tell me that I’m in a relationship. But he has told me that he has listened to my book and wants to discuss life and the world, says Borg.

Borg doesn’t want to don the mantle of savior of youth. He remembers that when the parents of young people approach him, praise him and tell him about the Borg videos of their offspring.

– There’s a high statistical probability that I’ll still pass out with a straw on my lips, Borg laughs.

Even though Borg walks to the convenience store in a daze, he is on his guard in other situations.

– For example, if I’m at a party with my friends and someone says let’s continue. I wonder who and what is there. It doesn’t matter if I don’t whiten my nose myself, but if I sit at a table with something lying around and it’s not mine – and someone takes a picture, Borg paints the milieu.

– I do trust myself, and I don’t want to live a life where I overthink. However, not all people can be trusted. I have paid school homework, says Borg.

The whole family on TV

In the spring, Borg and his family will be seen in Yle’s Kirjolla documentary. In monitoring reality, we get to know the spectrum of autism that escapes definitions. One of the main characters is Borg’s little brother Top.

Borg runs his tip business, does speaking gigs and social media campaigns. The audiobook, published in the fall, will receive a printed, larger version in the spring.

– Sometimes I’ve wondered if this is terribly healthy for the human mind: when you’re employed with your own personal brand, you have a value that can be calculated all the time, Borg says and refers to the speech and social media markets.

By all accounts, the value is currently high.

– It’s still good that there’s a little more to life, Borg points out.

To be a mother

Last summer Borg turned 30 years old. On the eve of his birthday, Borg realized a new dream.

– Only now have I realized that I want children. Until now, I’ve thought that I don’t want to, says Borg.

Then comes the but.

– But I say frankly that a woman’s life is a bit challenging. If a woman’s fertility lasted until 60, I would have children at 55. This is such a timeline race. The decision should be made before 40 years. It’s a tough game for women, says Borg.

Borg has kept six years together with rapper Tomi Solonen.

What made the bandwagon turn when it came to family additions?

– It would be so interesting to experience what the connection is like, Borg describes.

– I have never had shocking baby fever. I’ve also never been a fan of weddings, but it’s cool that people’s minds change, says Borg.

Well, what about the wedding?

– Yes, it would be great to marry Tom. I want to spend the rest of my life with him. We have a lot of fun, safe and fun together. It doesn’t need that paper, but if he proposes, I wouldn’t send him on trips either, says Borg.
