Softball players Olympia Haarlem give away advantage in championship battle in one day

The softball players of Olympia Haarlem have missed two chances to win the national championship. At Enschede, it saw Tex Town Tigers come alongside in the best-of-five series for the national championship. At Sportpark de Kroedkotten, Tex Town Tigers won twice against Olympia Haarlem to make it 2-2 in games.

Olympia Haarlem needed one victory in Enschede to become the Dutch champion. In the first game, however, everything went wrong on the side of the Haarlem-squad. In the first inning, Tex Town Tigers took the lead and after four innings, the score was 5-2 in favor of the Tukkers. Olympia Haarlem tied the score thanks to a strong fifth inning, but a score in the eighth inning decided the game in favor of Tex Town Tigers: 5-6.

In softball, two games are played in one day in the Holland Series. However, the second game was interrupted in the sixth inning due to heavy rainfall in Enschede. The game could be resumed and Tex Town Tigers won the 4-2 victory.

Olympia Haarlem has already lost the advantage in Enschede, as the score after four games is now 2-2. The decision will follow in North Holland tomorrow.
