When 29-year-old Sofie heard someone from Kind en Gezin say on TV last week that action is “always quick and adequate” if serious complaints are received – such as in ‘t Sloeberhuisje in Ghent, she exploded. “I’ve been yelling at my screen.” Sophie thinks we are being lied to. That’s why she shares her own, hair-raising story for the first time. “People need to know how lax the government is about abuse of babies and toddlers.”
