Cailee Spaeny plays Priscilla Presley in Coppola’s film. Jacob Elordi takes on the role of Elvis. Make a first impression here.
Just a year after the release of Baz Luhrman’s biopic Elvis, a new film about the king of rock ‘n’ roll is in the starting blocks – albeit only partially. Because Sofia Coppola’s new work entitled “Priscilla” is not about Elvis himself, but about his longtime wife Priscilla Presley. A teaser has now been released that gives a first glimpse of the film’s aesthetics and cast.
Check out the teaser here:
Priscilla is based on the autobiography Elvis and Me, co-written by Priscilla Presley with Sandra Harmon, and tells the story of Priscilla Beaulieu’s marriage and eventual divorce from Elvis Presley. While Coppola has chosen an already established actor for the role of Elvis, Jacob Elordi, known from “Euphoria”, Cailee Spaeny, a newcomer, has been cast as Priscilla. “Priscilla” hits theaters in October 2023 and was produced by A24.
As the film and music news platform “Film Music Reporter” reports, the French indie pop band Phoenix will once again provide the musical accompaniment for the film. The band of Thomas Mars – Sofia Coppola’s husband – has been responsible for the music for previous works of her (Lost In Translation, Somewhere, The Beguiled and On the Rocks).
