The entity assures that in Catalonia there is no freedom of expression
The association Societat Civil Catalana (SCC) has denounced this Saturday in a statement the appearance of insulting graffiti in Barcelona coinciding with the celebration of its annual assembly of partners. SCC indicates that its assembly “has been altered by the appearance of some menacing graffiti“This Saturday on the walls and on the floor of the Civic Center Tomasa Cuevas, in the Barcelona neighborhood of Les Corts, where the conclave was held.

In the graffiti you can read phrases like “Fascists out of our neighborhoods”, “FCK SCC” and “Tomasa Cuevas was one of us”. “The radicals -says Societat Civil- put SCC back on target, making it clear that, as we have been denouncing, In Catalonia the situation has not been normalized nor is there freedom of expression for all Catalans”.
The president of SCC, Elda Mata Miró-Sans, indicates in the statement that “coercion and threats only demonstrate the need that there is a firm voice of citizens in favor of the rights and freedoms of all equally” and points out: “we will not give in to the blackmail of fear”.
