The investigations into social housing fraud in Flanders are bearing fruit. More and more files are emerging of people who simultaneously have social housing and a residence abroad. Half of all targeted inspections – 339 out of 724 – result in a case of fraud. Two million euros in damages have already been recovered. “The tips and files keep coming in, we didn’t think that at the beginning.”
