Feyenoord with passion
The people of Rotterdam, who had won both matches against Union in the group phase (3:1 and 2:1), fought for the valuable draw with a lot of passion. Feyenoord is hoping for the first European Cup victory since the UEFA Cup triumph against Borussia Dortmund 20 years ago.
Union failed in the group stage
The Conference League has its premiere this season as the third European Cup competition behind the Champions League and the Europa League. Berlin had taken the only spot for the Bundesliga.
However, after successfully qualifying for the group stage, the Köpenickers were eliminated before the knockout rounds as third in Group E behind Rotterdam and Slavia Prague.
