First summer football, then peat festival in Mönchengladbach
The spectators first saw a Borussia running behind. However, TSG’s defensive performance looked more and more like summer football. First, Stindl’s equalizer was preceded by several mistakes, then Hoffenheim’s defense chief Kevin Vogt committed a clumsy foul on Embolo, Plea converted the penalty safely.
Before the break, Hofmann overcame Oliver Baumann from a tight angle, shortly after the restart Embolo appeared alone in front of the TSG goalkeeper and converted with a lob.
Disappointing season – also for Hoffenheim
Mönchengladbach now enjoyed the game – together with the audience. Hoffenheim, on the other hand, increasingly lacked the drive given the clear intermediate result. Ninth place is also clearly not enough for Hoffenheim, who also started the season with the goal of international business.
