Schreuder comes from Club Brugge and has been given a two-year contract until June 30, 2024 with an option for another season, Ajax announced.
The 49-year-old Dutchman Schreuder was already employed by the record champions, from January 2018 to 2019 as an assistant coach at Ten Hag, before he took over the Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for a year. For the 2020/21 season, Schreuder joined FC Barcelona as assistant coach to his compatriot Ronald Koeman until they were released at the end of October 2021. At the beginning of January 2022, he took over the Belgian first division club FC Brugge. Schreuder is currently playing in the playoffs for the Belgian championship with Brugge.
