Bremen quickly lead 2-0, but Kiel comes back

Bremen quickly took the lead through Niclas Füllkrug. Felix Agu brought the ball into the middle from the left, Mitchell Weiser extended the ball with his heel, and Füllkrug completed the shot from close range on the second post, completely free-standing (2′). A little later, Marvin Ducksch increased with a hand penalty (23rd), Kiel’s Simon Lorenz had caused it.

However, Kiel managed to catch up before the break. After a corner from the left, Kwasi Wriedt got the shot, which was deflected by the goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka (45′).

Compensation with a second own goal, then the game tilts

Johannes van den Bergh crossed from the left halfway up in front of the goal, in a duel with Wriedt Jung pushed the ball over the line – Bremen’s second own goal (71st). Werder still had more chances to take the lead again, the best of which was missed by Füllkrug with a header in the 81st minute.
