Eighty years ago, an uprising broke out in the Sobibor extermination camp. It was the only time that prisoners in a Nazi camp rebelled. That fact is commemorated in Sobibor and in Camp Westerbork. The NOS covers both commemorations on Saturday in a broadcast on NPO 1. One of the speakers at the commemoration is outgoing Prime Minister Rutte.

The broadcast also features the daughter and granddaughter of two of the Sobibor survivors. There is also a report on the recent reconstruction of the site that was razed by the Nazis in an attempt to erase its existence.
