St. Petersburg SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg claims In an interview with Match TVthat his shoes were robbed in the 1990s in Helsinki.

According to Rotenberg, he grew his character on the street. Rotenberg said that he practiced judo since the age of three.

– If I had to, I could have fought.

– When I lived in Helsinki and was walking around the city, five big Albanians came up to me and said: “You have new sneakers. Take them out,” Rotenberg said.

According to Rotenberg, he walked in his socks after the encounter.

– Health is much more important. Sometimes it’s better to give something up so they don’t kill you. It is very good that the 90s are behind us. It’s great when nowadays there are cameras everywhere and people try to think about security.

Rotenberg wanted to move back to his native Russia at the age of 14. He went to SKA’s training camp, but his mother’s will changed the plans.

– He told me that I would be able to study in Finland and asked me how I could give up such a thing. That was in 1995.

However, Rotenberg had decided to stay in Russia, but a family dispute broke out over the matter. The mother did not agree to Rotenberg’s will.

– What can be done about it? Mom is always right. Mother must be loved and respected.

Rotenberg finished his schooling and immediately returned to Russia. He could have worked in Finland, but he wanted to get back to Russia.
