You may be wondering – rightly so – why a villa near the beach is something you would want to get rid of. However, it was no longer a tenable situation for the Meilandjes, who have since become a household name in the Netherlands.
From Chateau Meiland to Chateau bad bargain
Martien previously explained why: “This house is just too busy. Every day people are at the door and some don’t even care about the fence.”
Martien and Erica are not moving too far away. “We will stay in Noordwijk. We saw a house that you can’t see from the road, so with a driveway. So this is going on sale again!”

A few weeks ago, ‘Chateau miskoop’ was still online for € 2,995,000. Nobody was willing to pay almost 3 million euros for it, which is why the Meilandjes dropped almost 2 tons in asking price. That helped. The deed of sale was signed on Good Friday, broker René van Nierop confirms to Show news†
Fortunately, we don’t have to feel a lot of pity for the Meilandjes: the € 2,799,500 that they eventually received is still more than a ton more than they have ever paid for it themselves (€ 2,695,000).
