When Freddie Mercury entered the stage with Queen, he was another person for at least 90 minutes. His energetic appearances, his aura, which are difficult to describe in words, shaped every single concert by the band since its foundation 50 years ago.
But how did the singer manage to relax again after these exhausting moments? Peter Freestone, personal assistant Mercury and one of his best friends, revealed a question in an interview with a Queen fansite that has been asking faster of the group for decades.
Freddie Mercury was traveling with friends at night
Freestone made it clear that Freddie, as an artist, could hardly freed up how the adrenaline pulsed in his body after each performance.
“He could hardly sit calmly after the concerts,” said Freestone. “Freddie’s way of getting rid of tension often consisted of going out in the city with a group of friends until the early hours of the morning. So the adrenaline simply dissolved at some point. “

In the conversation, Freddie Mercury’s former assistant also revealed another secret: the Queen singer was actually almost never on a bike, even though he had written one of the greatest cyclists in rock history.

“In the twelve years in which I worked for Freddie, I never saw him ride a bike,” said Freestone. “That doesn’t mean he couldn’t. ‘Bicycle Race’ was created as a song when he saw drivers of the Tour de France drive past his hotel window. ”
