Wilfred Genee may be crazy about folk music, but André Hazes really ruined it for him posthumously. He is so done with this legendary artist. “That was a real c*ck.”
It is inevitable that André Hazes had already been canceled three times in modern times, mainly because Rachel Hazes was very young when he hooked up with her. Despite everything, André still has legendary status nineteen years after his death. His music belongs to our country, but what a dragon of a guy he was, says Wilfred Genee.
‘What an ass’
Wilfred brings up the subject of Hazes when he is in the podcast Go-getters is asked about his favorite genre of music. “Yes, it’s all Dutch in general with me. When I’m sitting here in the car… Everything that has to do with Dutch. Everything from Hazes,” said the presenter of Today Inside.
Yet he has mixed feelings about that man. “I read other books during my holidays. Oh yes, I even read Hazes’ book. I got that from Jan Paparazzi. That’s my neighbor. And a new version has been released. And that was an ass, wasn’t it, that guy. The way he treated his children and so on.”
‘It’s all intense’
Hasn’t it been known for a long time that André was not exactly an exemplary father? You see what became of his son André Jr. “Yes, but when you read that again, you think: oh, how intense.”
By the way, Wilfred doesn’t like André’s junior variant either. André Hazes Jr. has refused for years to come to programs with Wilfred, because he always calls him ‘André Hazes Jr.’ instead of ‘André Hazes’. “Yes, then you are nice and grown up.
