Snowboard hat trick just before Christmas: Ramona Hofmeister also won the third World Cup race in a row. After two parallel giant slaloms, this time she couldn’t be beaten in the parallel slalom.

Raceboarder Ramona Hofmeister celebrated her third victory in the third race of the season. After two victories in the snowboard parallel giant slalom, the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist also prevailed in the parallel slalom on Saturday (December 23, 2023) in Davos, Switzerland.

“Don’t need any Christmas break”

“Wow, a hat-trick! I don’t know what to say about it”said Hofmeister after the 18th World Cup victory in her 79th World Cup race, “I actually don’t need a Christmas break at all.”

Hofmeister again in front of Dalmasso

In the final, Hofmeister relegated the Italian Lucia Dalmasso to second place, as he did recently in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The 27-year-old Hofmeister was 0.29 seconds faster than her final opponent, who was a year younger.

On the way to winning the day, Hofmeister had previously prevailed in the round of 16 against the Austrian Claudia Riegler, in the quarter-finals against the Swiss Ladina Jenny and in the semi-finals against Sabine Schöffmann from Austria. In the small final, Schöffmann secured third place against the Swiss world champion Julie Zogg.

Hochreiter is eliminated in the round of 16

Melanie Hochreiter, a second German, also qualified for the round of 16. However, the 27-year-old was eliminated by Hofmeister’s final opponent Lucia Dalmasso and came twelfth. Cheyenne Loch was eliminated from qualifying and finished 25th.

With her three wins this season, Hofmeister clearly leads the overall World Cup. Hofmeister already secured the big crystal ball for overall victory in 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022.

Men: Bagozza wins – Baumeister is eliminated

In the men’s category, the Italian Daniele Bagozza won the competition in Davos. The 28-year-old beat Austrian Arvid Auner and celebrated his first World Cup victory in almost four years. Third place went to the Italian Edwin Coratti. The only German in the finals, Stefan Baumeister, was eliminated in the round of 16 against Cody Winters from the USA, who finished fourth. Baumeister ended up 16th.
