Overall World Cup winner Ramona Hofmeister and the Austrian Daniela Ulbig delivered a thrilling race in the final of the parallel slalom in Bad Gastein on Tuesday (January 11th, 2022). Both slipped after a mistake, Ulbig came back on the course faster and won the duel. Third place went to Russian Natalia Soboleva.
Just before the Olympic Games in Beijing, Hofmeister just missed her 14th World Cup victory, but took the lead in the Parallel Slalom World Cup. Team colleague Carolin Langenhorst reached the quarter-finals, where she had to admit defeat to the Austrian Julia Dumjovits and came in sixth. Melanie Hochreiter was eliminated in the round of 16 against the Russian Natalija Sobolewa and ended up in eleventh place.
