Zhangjiakou (dpa) – The German Snowboard Association has nominated Martin Nörl for the mixed competition in snowboard cross.
The 28-year-old, who was eliminated early as a gold favorite in the individual, will start on Saturday (3:00 a.m. CET) alongside Jana Fischer, as the association announced on Friday in response to a dpa request. Nörl was given preference over his teammates Umito Kirchwehm and Paul Berg. In the women’s category, Fischer was the only German boardercrosser to travel to China.
After sobering performances in the parallel giant slalom and in the individual boardercross, the mixed competition is practically the last chance for a medal for Snowboard Germany. At the final Big Air event next week, Noah Vicktor and Leon Vockensperger are not among the medal candidates.
