Telstar left a point tonight in the away game with Jong Ajax: 1-1. Mike Snoei spoke of ‘a wonderful result’ afterwards, although the Telstar trainer had secretly hoped for more. “If Blackson heads that ball in, it’s 2-1,” said Snoei.
“I have mixed feelings. A wonderful result, but Ajax has not had that many opportunities. A dominance in the field because Ajax can of course play fantastic football,” says Snoei after the 1-1 in Amsterdam. “With a lot of struggle and a lot of experience, we took that point with us. In the past we sometimes gave it away in the final phase, but now we cross the line and take this point back on the bus.”
Scoring on debut
The celebrated man at Telstar’s side was Koen Blommestijn. The brand new acquisition already managed to hit the ball from a corner after three minutes and thus give Telstar the lead. “It was a good corner. Exactly as we had rehearsed it. At first I thought he was rejected because I saw everyone disappointed. Fortunately, he counted and I was able to celebrate with the fans,” said a delighted Blommestijn after the game .

Dream debut
Snoei was also extremely satisfied with the contribution of his new striker. “Everything was good. Really a dream debut. That is because of his goal, but also because of the way he manifests himself. A boy after my heart and who fits very well with Telstar,” said Snoei.
Telstar’s next game is this Friday. Then play the White Lions their first home game of the season. The opponent in Velsen-Zuid is then relegated PEC Zwolle.
