Snipes promotes Daniel Bontjer to Chief Retail Officer

The Cologne-based sneaker and streetwear supplier Snipes has created a new management position. On Tuesday, the company announced the appointment of Daniel Bontjer as Chief Retail Officer (CRO) for the European market. In this function, he will be “responsible for the sales business as well as the areas of human resources and customer service with immediate effect,” according to a statement.

Bontjer has been with Snipes since 2012. According to the company, he has held various management positions since then. Before his promotion, which has now been announced, he served as Senior Head of Retail & Human Resources Europe.

Dennis Schröder, the General Manager Europe, to whom Bontjer will report in future, explained the personnel decision: “The fact that we can now fill a new role at C-level internally with Daniel shows above all that at Snipes the employees together with the businesses can grow,” he said in a statement. “Daniel knows our retail business like no other and is therefore exactly the right person for this job.”

With the creation of the new post, the company has continued to drive targeted expansion of its leadership team. “With the expansion of the management at Snipes and the appointment of a general manager, Dennis Schröder, in March 2023, CEO and founder Sven Voth should be strengthened,” explained the retailer. As a result, Voth can now “focus on the overall strategy of the company”.
