When it rains bombs in Ukraine, it rains in France. Incumbent President Emmanuel Macron has seemed untouchable since the start of the Russian invasion. He jumped without hesitation into the gap left by German Chancellor Angela Merkel when she left, to position himself as Europe’s number one. For domestic use, that roll seemed like the golden ticket for re-election.
