A striking report at the Bloemendaal beach bar Woodstock this morning. A passerby who saw smoke coming from the pavilion thought there was a fire in the building and alerted the fire brigade. He soon discovered after arrival that it was a false alarm.
The report was made around 7.40 am, the Kennemerland Safety Region tells NH News. After two fire engines from Zandvoort and Haarlem arrived at the beach tent, the fire hose did not have to be rolled out. The business was testing a smoke machine in the early morning for the final party of this season, which takes place tonight. The firefighters were soon able to return to the barracks.
There was a fire in the pavilion last summer
Woodstock is still in all its glory in Bloemendaal, but beach club Bloomingdale went up in flames in May this year. The beach tent was completely destroyed by a very large fire. The catering entrepreneurs said they were ‘astonished and sad’, but also indicated that they had received a lot of support from their visitors.
