OROver 500 guests and lots of smiles, happiness, soap bubbles and the desire to be together and meet again. Saturday 7 May 2022, at the Gardens of Villa Reale in Milanthe appointment with the “Theodora’s picnic”, The historic charity event dedicated to the families of the Theodora Foundation.

The objective of the event is to support the resumption of visits in the presence of Doctor Dreams to children hospitalized in Milanese hospitals where the Foundation operates: National Cancer Institute, V. Buzzi Children’s Hospital, Besta Neurological Institute and IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.
Many families participated in the picnic: colors, workshops, ice cream, soap bubblesand above all the desire to be at the side of the Theodora Foundation to bring play, listening and escape to the children hospitalized with the special personalized visits of Doctor Dreams.

The Doctor Dreams, also protagonists at Theodora’s Picnic, are professional artists, hired and specifically trained by the Foundation to work in pediatric wards of high complexity in synergy with hospital staff, as part of an integrated care process for the young patient. Theodora’s intervention is in fact part of an integrated patient care process, by integrated medicine that considers the patient as a human being in his totality.

“This edition of Theodora’s Picnic was special for many reasons. First of all, because we are back in attendance to meet families in what is an appointment that marks our history. We believe it is also a good sign for the city: we got together to experience a moment of joy together but with the aim of ensuring continuity in our commitment to be alongside the children in the hospital. We want to give a positive signal because the funds raised will allow us to support visits in the presence of Doctor Sogni to children hospitalized in the Milanese hospitals where the Foundation operates.
We did not give up even in the most difficult months of the pandemic, during which we fielded new energy, new planning and creativity, following that quality model that is a reference point for those who work in supporting the care of children in hospitals.
