The SMEs plan fewer recruitments and more fired in the second quarter. The number of Belgian SMEs (up to 250 employees) with recruitment plans is falling from one in three to around a quarter, while the number of SMEs thinking they should dismiss people is increasing to 15 percent. This is evident on Thursday from the most recent SME survey of SD Worx in March 2025 by 661 employers.
