Small snow surprise in the evening in Berlin!

A few snow showers fell over the capital on Thursday afternoon and evening. Immediately there was a problem on the roads.

First it snowed in the east of the capital, later also in the west. But it wasn’t much: about 2 to 3 centimeters came down.

But it was enough for a first accident: On Weißenseer Weg, corner of Herzbergstraße in Berlin-Lichtenberg, a VW Caddy slipped into a tram stop, probably because the road was slippery. Some windows shattered at the bus stop, but no one was injured.

In Brandenburg, too, there was probably an accident due to the ice and snow: around 8 p.m. on the way to a traffic accident near Baruth/Mark in the Brandenburg district of Teltow-Fläming on the B115, a fire engine from the fire brigade crashed. According to initial information, three firefighters were slightly injured. The vehicle sustained damage of an unknown amount.

During the night the showers will be rarer, mostly it will be clear. And on Friday it will be warmer again and there will be rain. But the thin layer of snow should remain in place at least until Friday morning.
