Six years after the announced end of Ilka Bessin’s fictional character, RTL is now planning “The Cindy from Marzahn Show”.
After the industry service “DWDL.de” reported on it, an RTL spokesman for the German Press Agency confirmed on Sunday that four episodes of the show in Halle (Saale) should be recorded in mid-May. When exactly the programs can be seen in the RTL program was initially unclear.
Comedian Bessin declared her farewell to Cindy from Marzahn in 2016. The 50-year-old told the “Spiegel” at the time: “You can’t play a character like that dead. If you put on a wig and a pink jogging suit night after night for 11 years, you have to be careful that people don’t go, ‘Whoa, I can’t see that shit anymore.'”
Playing the role of an unemployed woman with a penchant for pink clothes, Bessin found great success, both on stage and on television. In 2009 she got her own show on RTL, in 2012 she became Markus Lanz’s assistant as Cindy on the ZDF Saturday evening show “Wetten, dass…?”, from 2013 she was also on Sat.1.
In 2021, Bessin appeared on the show “RTL says thank you”, which was intended to thank the “Corona heroes”. At that time she already declared that she wanted to return again for a “farewell show”.
