The record EVERYTHING IS ALIVE will be released on September 1st – and a first single can already be heard.
Slowdive have announced that their recently completed fifth album, EVERYTHING IS ALIVE, will be released on September 1st, 2023. The announcement comes alongside a new set of tour dates for 2023, as well as first single “kisses”.
The production of the record started in autumn 2020, as the band made public at the time. The British quintet recorded across the UK over the next two years and was produced by lead guitarist and songwriter Neil Halstead. Shawn Everett mixed six of the eight tracks.

“There have been some profound changes for some of us personally,” singer/guitarist Rachel Goswell said in a statement, alluding to the deaths of her mother and drummer Simon Scott’s father in 2020, whom the new work is dedicated to is.
“These crossroads are reflected in the multi-layered emotional tenor of Slowdive’s music; everything is alive and heavy with experience, but each note is balanced, wise, and absolutely hopeful. Her unique alchemy subtly embodies both sadness and gratitude, earthiness and uplifting.”

Slowdive on tour: the dates
After summer stops at Glastonbury Festival, Japan, Australia and other countries, Slowdive will embark on a North American tour beginning September 23 in Toronto. The shoegaze group will also play several dates in the UK and Ireland through early November.

EVERYTHING IS ALIVE follows Slowdive’s 2017 self-titled LP, which was their first release in 22 years at the time.
