Due to the snow and slippery conditions, accidents have happened in various places in Drenthe. For example, a car slid off the road on the Veenhoverdijk in Gieten.
The car came to a stop in the ditch. A woman and two children were in the vehicle on their way to school. The woman was injured and taken to hospital for a check-up. The two children were unharmed.
