Sleeping volleyball giant from Huizen awakens: national championship as an ambition

We have to go back no less than 21 years in time. In 2002, AMVJ from Amstelveen was the last North Holland club to become national champion in the men’s volleyball premier division. If it is up to volleyball association Huizen, they will soon follow in their footsteps. The big question is when?

This season, Huizen makes a creditable debut at the highest level. The team almost even qualified for the championship group through the regular season. At the kick-off of the relegation group, the team of trainer Teun Buijs booked a simple 3-0 win over Taurus this weekend.

By investing and professionalising, Buijs expects to be able to make rapid progress. “I see a lot of potential in this group myself, but it is also a young team that needs to become mentally stronger.”

NH Sport made the above report about the ambitious Huizen.
