Slavia coach sees eager Mohamed Ihattaren: ‘He has lost weight and gained muscle mass’ | Dutch football

Mohamed Ihattaren surprised a month ago by breathing new life into his football career, which had fallen into the doldrums, at Slavia Prague. Under contract with the current number two of the Czech Republic, the 21-year-old is working on his fitness and according to his trainer, things are going in the right direction for the former PSV player.

In any case, this is what Slavia Prague coach Jindrich Trpisovsky indicates on the club’s website. “In one month he has worked hard, lost several kilos and, according to tests, has also gained a lot of muscle mass,” said the trainer. Ihattaren did not do this in the Czech Republic, but in Dubai. Recently he worked there an individual training program led by personal trainer Nicolas St. Maurice, who previously worked with Ryan Gravenberch and Karim Benzema, among others.

And that has apparently paid off. This month the Czech club will go to a training camp. At Slavia Prague they hope that Ihattaren will soon join the first team. “He will work with the fitness trainers on a daily basis. Our plan is to get him to a certain level so that he can train with the A-team. That is not yet the case.”

We hope that he can do something with the A-selection at the end of the winter break

Trpisovsky cannot yet say when he can make his debut for Slavia Prague. The team, which is second in the competition, will play a large number of practice matches this month and will resume the competition on February 11. “I’m not going to make a prediction,” says Trpisovsky. “But we hope that he can do something with the A-selection at the end of the winter break.”

Ihattaren signed with Slavia Prague in early December initially a performance contract until the end of this season, based on the number of matches he plays. The contract also includes an option for a three-year extension. In this way, Utrecht hopes to return to professional football, something that many people have a hard time about

The midfielder and winger came through the youth ranks of PSV and eventually played 74 matches for the main squad of the Eindhoven team. At PSV, the midfielder regularly came into conflict with then coach Roger Schmidt and the club management.

Contract terminated at Juventus

He was also under contract with Juventus and Ajax. The young footballer has frequently been in the news negatively in recent years. His period in Italy ended in a fiasco and he was also unable to get his career back on track in Amsterdam. He was also arrested for alleged assault on his girlfriend, to whom he is now married. His Porsche also went up in flames and he had to move to his home in Utrecht forced to sell.

In August, Ihattaren seemed to sign a contract in Turkey with Samsunspor. He received a grand welcome at the airport, but the adventure was extremely short-lived. The Turkish club reported less than a day later that Ihattaren was due ‘unacceptable demands’ was not presented with a contract after all. The chairman of Samsunspor then called the midfielder ‘a problem player’. In any case, the start at Slavia Prague is better than at the Turkish club. His teammate Mick van Buren saw him as an ultimate opportunity for the club.
