Slasher horror film: “Terrifier 2” makes viewers swoon

Stephen King’s horror clown Pennywise is apparently nothing compared to “Art the Clown”. The character brought a lot of fans among horror lovers in director Damien Leone’s 2016 film “Terrifier”. The sequel that has just been released is apparently another house number. After the US theatrical release of “Terrifier 2”, fans reported in rows that they had to throw up in the cinema or fainted.

However, one should not assume that those affected did not like the film: many who reported nausea or similar reactions expressly praised the film at the same time. “My friend passed out and the cinema called an ambulance. Highly recommended,” wrote one user on Twitter. “‘Terrifier 2’ is so gory I puked in my popcorn,” wrote another.

“Just watched Terrifier 2,” wrote a third user. “It was a great bloody mess. The guy behind me fainted and fell into my chair, another guy left because he wasn’t feeling well, I heard him say that and as I was walking through the cinema exit I heard a guy in the toilet fiercely & loudly.” At the same time, he added, “I loved the movie.” “Terrifier 2” will be a horror classic for the future.

After similar reactions from viewers, producer Steven Barton shared an official warning on social media. “This film contains scenes of graphic violence and brutal depictions of horror,” wrote Barton. “Viewers who have a weak heart, are prone to drowsiness, or who are prone to nausea are advised to exercise extreme caution. There have been several cases of fainting and vomiting in cinemas. For those who choose to proceed, you have been warned.”

The film hit the cinemas in the USA on October 6th and will later be available there on the Screambox streaming service, which cannot be used in Germany, however. A theatrical release in Germany is not yet known.
