Slash on the new album and the “Hard Skool EP”

On Friday, February 25, Guns N’ Roses will release their first multi-track since 1993, the Hard Skool EP, which features Slash and Duff McKagan. It contains the two singles “Absurd” and “Hard Skool”, which were released last year, as well as two live recordings. For those fans who thirst for more, Slash now made it in an interview with the American edition of ROLLING STONE Hope: He is “confident” that the band “will eventually release a new album”.

Hard Skool brought fun and good times

The two new tracks are actually two revised “Chinese Democracy” outtakes. Slash: “Hard Skool was basically a finished song when I first heard it. Duff and I then re-recorded the bass and guitars. It’s a simple song, so it didn’t take a lot of thought and analysis,” said the 56-year-old, continuing, “I think it was a lot of fun because it was part of a whole bunch of stuff that we were working on , which were all kind of new – at least to Duff and I – so we had a good time.”

The next singles are already ready – to pave the way for the album?

There’s also a “bunch of new stuff” in the works, some of which are a little more complex than “Hard Skool.” Two new tracks are about to be released: “I know we have a couple of songs and we’ll be releasing another one soon and there will be another one after that,” he continued. Whether they will herald a new full-length player is not yet set in stone – but Slash’s words are optimistic: “As far as the album is concerned, the overall package remains to be seen, but I’m pretty confident that it will come at some point,” says the guitarist .

Your feet are already wet

According to another interview of the guitarist, this time with The Wall Street Journal, resuming Rose’s previously written material was apparently one of the lead singer’s conditions for continuing as Guns N’ Roses: “One of the things Axl wanted to get off his was a bunch of material he recorded,” explained the English-born musician, adding, “So we were like, ‘Well, that’s a good way to get our feet wet.'”
