Fans may be familiar with Slash’s Instagram account. The guitarist posts some obscure pictures there. In an interview, the guitarist revealed that he writes most of his posts himself.
Slash posts relatively regularly on Instagram, preferably animations, horror content or birthday wishes for fellow musicians. In a radio interview, he has now commented on his unusual social media strategy for the first time.
“I do all my Instagram stuff myself, except certain things related to my merch, that’s what an office does. But I do all the other stuff,” said the guitar legend. Most of the things he shares there, he simply pulls from other people or accounts. “Because I don’t have time… You can spend countless hours finding pictures online,” the 56-year-old said.
Slash added that he often likes pictures so he can save them and post them himself later. He also couldn’t imagine that someone else would have to do “this shit” for him. Here are some impressions of his Instagram account:
But Slash can apparently be completely different, as he now proved on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. He posted a photo of his partner Meegan Hodges and wished the love of his life a happy Valentine’s Day.
The fact that the guitarist posts so much on Instagram is also surprising, since Slash is currently on tour with his own band and will be doing several concerts with the Guns N’ Roses in the summer. Two performances by the band in Germany are also planned for July. One in Munich, one in Hanover.
