Guns N’ Roses plan to release new music in the next few months. As guitarist Slash said in an interview with US radio host Eddie Trunk, there are around four finished tracks that are to be released one after the other. “We’re just going to release a song or two, and then another song or two,” Slash said on Sirius XM’s Trunk Nation show.
“They’re really good too, so I’m looking forward to that,” Slash said. “I mean, that’s all then, I’m not exactly sure how many we’ve done in total… it’s going to be some epic ones [Songs] come out.” According to Slash, the songs will be “piece by piece […] Come out over the next few months or so.” The interview is currently only available on the radio station’s app, but it’s also set to appear as a podcast.
Slash also talked about a full new album on the show: “I want to go ahead and do a brand new record at some point, probably sooner rather than later,” he said. Work on it could start after the tour in the summer of 2023: “We still have a tour left next summer that we have to play and that will then free up time for us to get going and work on a new album”. So the releases just announced are probably not part of the next album.
In September 2021, Guns N’ Roses released an EP with the songs “Absurd” and “Hard Skool”. Both originally came from the sessions for the last album “Chinese Democracy” (2008). According to fans, they also played the previously unreleased song “Oklahoma” during a sound check of the current tour. So the track could be one of the next to come out.
