Skiing legend Juha Mieto did not suffer from the cold during his sports career. Kurika’s giants have a solution for Remi Lindholm’s frequent frostbite problems.

– Notta, I say that if the clothes freeze, it depends on the clothing.
Remi Lindholm A penis frozen on a rock is amazing Juha Mietoa.
Kurikan left when he did not suffer from such a problem in his own career as a competitive skier.
– I had extremely good peripheral blood circulation. For example, I didn’t wear gloves, even if it was 30 degrees below zero, like in the preliminaries in Lake Placid in 1979. And this is very true, says Mieto.
Mieto says that he avoided frostbite in his racing career, even though the conditions were much harsher in places than today’s skiers have to face.
– There was no freezing point then. The races were skied in, say, 30 degrees below zero. In my time, the equipment was also much worse. When it was very cold, a newspaper was stuffed into the pants so that it just kept getting worse, Mieto remembers.
A tip for Rem
Mika Kanerva
Mieto emphasizes that his cold tolerance was the result of two things. From inheritance and tolerance.
– I often recovered in freezing weather by running with only woolen socks on my feet. I could even run some distances in bare feet. It was a blast!
According to Miedo, metabolism and peripheral blood circulation are extremely important things for a skier.
Mieto practiced blood circulation in the traditional Finnish way.
– Sauna and vento. I repeated this many times. Sometimes I sat next to the opening and really waited for it to get cold. Then I went into the open. That’s how I got the blood circulation going and developed my cold tolerance, says Mieto.
Maybe Lindholm could learn from this?
– Absolutely! Call Remi and tell him about this. And if you don’t believe it, let Remi call me and I’ll give concrete instructions, Mieto instructs.
Barefoot in the car

74-year-old Miedo’s cold tolerance is still fine.
– There haven’t been any problems at this age yet. I also drive the car barefoot in freezing weather. When you have size 52 shoes, they won’t fit in that foot space, says Mieto.
The shoes travel in the car in the passenger seat. If Kurikan’s team has to make an extra pit stop, they will also stay there
– If I get out of the car to take a piss in the snow, I’ll be shoveling with bare feet, Mieto told Iltalehte in January.
