Vlhová chases Shiffrin – Shiffrin chases Vlhová
“See you tomorrow, Zagreb”, wrote Shiffrin on Monday afternoon on Twitter and Instagram. The first race of the year takes place in the Croatian capital. Shiffrin had to forego the two technology races in Lienz / Austria at the end of December because of a positive corona test.
In Lienz, Petra Vlhová in particular benefited from the American’s failure. The Slovak, who won the overall World Cup last season, leads the Slalom World Cup with 380 points ahead of Shiffrin (260).
Positioning for Lena Dürr
The slalom in Zagreb will also determine the position of the best DSV runner, Lena Dürr. The 30-year-old from Germering near Munich impressed with two third places at the beginning of the Olympic winter. Most recently in Lienz, however, it was only 18th.
Dürr leads the German contingent in Zagreb. In addition, Emma Aicher (Mahlstetten), Jessica Hilzinger (Oberstdorf), Paulina Schlosser (Kreenheinstetten) and Marlene Schmotz (Leitzachtal) start for the DSV in the city race.
