Ski legend Ingemar Stenmark believes that Mikaela Shiffrin will be the first person to win 100 victories in the Alpine World Cup.

“I think she can win more than 100 (races),” the 66-year-old Swede told the AP news agency. And he added: “It depends on how many years she continues her career. But definitely 100.”

Stenmark has achieved 86 World Cup victories over the course of his career; the 27-year-old American currently has 85 World Cup victories.

Shiffrin can set and beat Stenmark’s record at the upcoming World Cup from March 3rd to 5th in Kvitfjell, Norway. There are two Super-G and one downhill on the program.

“She’s much better than I was,” said the Swede. But you can’t compare it. “She has everything. She has good physical strength, she has good technique, she has a strong head. I think it’s the combination of all that that makes her so good. And I’m also impressed that she’s doing well in both slalom and slalom as well as in Super-G and in the downhill. I could never have been so strong in all these disciplines,” said the two-time Olympic champion, who celebrated all the successes in the technical competitions.
