Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers were also unable to stop the Boston Bruins from winning the NHL. The Bruins won 3-2 (2-1, 1-1, 0-0) in Edmonton, the seventh win in a row for the best team in the league.

In the third minute, Draisaitl gave the lead to make it 1-0 through Connor McDavid, who also made it 2-2 (33′) and thus reached the 50-goal mark for the first time in his career with the Oilers. McDavid is not only the NHL’s top scorer so far this season, but also the top assist provider with 65 assists.

But Pavel Zacha’s 40th-minute Boston winner saw Edmonton lose for the sixth time in eight games. Nevertheless, national player Draisaitl and his team remain on a playoff spot.

Stützle WINS with Ottawa and hits

Tim Stützle won the German duel against Moritz Seider and set the final point. The forward scored the final score in his Ottawa Senators’ 6-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings, his 27th goal of the season.

Ottawa (62 points) is five points behind the second-place wildcard in the East, which qualifies for the playoffs.
