Ski jumping: Slovenian Kriznar wins the Raw Air Tour

Slovenian ski jumper Nika Kriznar has won the five-day Raw Air Tour in Norway. At the end of the day, fourth place at the Holmenkollen in Oslo was enough for the Olympic bronze medalist from Beijing to pocket the “jackpot” of 45,000 euros.

The day’s victory went to the Japanese Sara Takanashi, the Olympic silver medalist Katharina Althaus finished eighth as the best German.

For Takanashi it was the second World Cup victory after her Olympic nightmare. The 25-year-old, who even thought about ending her career in Beijing after her disqualification in the mixed competition, had already triumphed at the Raw Air opener in Lillehammer. For Takanashi it was the 63rd World Cup win of her career.

Takanashi won on Sunday ahead of Olympic champion Ursa Bogataj (Slovenia) and Japan’s Yuki Ito. Marita Kramer finished fifth and is about to become the first Austrian to win the overall World Cup since Daniela Iraschko-Stolz 2014/2015.
