Germany’s ski jumpers celebrate their next podium place in Villach. The top jumper Nika Prevc cannot be beaten there again.
The German ski jumpers’ series of podiums continues in the snowfall in Villach. In the fifth competition in a row, a German made it into the top three in the World Cup. On Tuesday afternoon (January 6th, 2026) it was Agnes Reisch, who followed Katharina Schmid and Selina Freitag (most recently 3 times).
Once again the Slovenian Nika Prevc was unbeatable. The 20-year-old celebrated her 29th World Cup victory in Villach with a total of 248.8 points. This time, however, by a tiny 0.6 points ahead of the Austrian Lisa Eder (248.1 points) and the Allgäu Reisch (240.9). Prevc’s opponents are slowly getting closer. Selina Freitag, third the day before, came fourth on Tuesday (236.5).
Agnes Reisch is already on course for the podium at half time
Agnes Reisch was already third at halftime thanks to a 90.5 meter jump. “have fun” She then wanted to do it in the second round; she had already fallen in Villach and wanted to do it this weekend “Make peace” with the ski jump.
She succeeded throughout, with a broad grin as she was happy about only the second World Cup podium finish of her career. “With every jump I gain more confidence in the hill. That’s how I imagine ski jumping”said Reisch in the sports show.
Friday: Reisch “bombastically strong”, Schmid tenth
Behind Reisch, fourth-place finisher Freitag and Katharina Schmid also achieved top ten placements. “I had a really cool competition”said Friday. “I’m also happy for Agnes that she can now stand on the podium. She’s often had difficulties here and hurt herself there. It’s incredibly strong when you’re clear of your head and can make friends with the jump.”
Like the day before, Schmid came in tenth (224.8). She also said goodbye to Villach with a smile. She ended her career after the winter and competed on the small hill for the last time.
Juliane Seyfarth came 23rd after a weaker second jump, Julina Kreibich and Emely Torazza clearly missed the final of the top 30. “What I’m missing a little bit right now is the flow that I know it just works”said Seyfarth. On the other hand, she is positive about the fact that – like Reisch – she was able to improve from day to day in Villach.
