Ski Jumping Raw Air Women: Liveticker – Lillehammer Individual Quali

13:38

Lisa Eder (AUT)

After these two long jumps, the jury goes two hatches down again, because now the stronger pilots are coming. Lisa Eder would also like to count herself among them, but she has to land after 112.5 meters. That means the solid fifth place, but also 20 points behind.

13:37

Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (AUT)

And Jacqueline Seifriedsberger can also take advantage of the beautiful updraft conditions and take her jump really far into the valley. For 128 meters there is twice the 16.5 and once the 17.0 in the posture. Is that enough for leadership? Almost not. Pagnier is 3.3 points behind.

1:35 p.m

Josephine Pagnier (FRA)

Things are completely different with Josephine Pagnier! The 19-year-old gets lucky and gets a real boost and then it’s there after she can cleanly bring her technique to the edge. After 129.5 meters, Pagnier takes the lead in the classification.

13:34

Eva Pinkelnig (AUT)

Eva Pinkelnig hadn’t quite found her way to the hill in the training sessions and even now it doesn’t fit together. The 33-year-old has to be satisfied with 102 meters.

13:33

Spela Rogelj (SLO)

Ten athletes are still on top. Spela Rogelj is the first in this group. Can she oust her teammate from first place? No. With 112 meters and low grades for posture, she has to line up well behind Brecl.

13:32

Frida Westman (SWE)

In the first practice session Frida Westman was up front, in the second practice session she had to move further back. What is possible now for the athlete who has been training in Trondheim since this year? Not much! In the first meters after the take-off she has to do a lot, has to intervene and ends up at just 103 meters. She will certainly be disappointed when you consider that she is actually a lot further along.

1:30 p.m

Anna Odine Strom (NOR)

For her part, Anna Odine Strøm ends up roughly in the range that she could also offer in the two training rounds. With a fairly open system, she sets her landing after 105.5 meters.

13:29

Yuki Ito (JPN)

The disappointment will definitely outweigh that! Yuki Ito catches a lot of tailwind, has a lot to do with it and it’s only 109.5 meters. In training, she had jumped over 120 meters.

13:28

Thea Minyan Bjorseth (NOR)

After Iwabuchi had to give up the competition at short notice, it is now Thea Minyan Bjørseth’s turn. However, the Norwegian cannot put much on the hill. After the jump she comes out crooked, then has to correct a lot and does not reach more than 106 meters.

13:26

Yuka Seto (JPN)

Yuka Seto does it better. When there is no wind, the 25-year-old climbs down to 118 meters. She won’t be in the lead with that, but she certainly won’t be dissatisfied with second place.

13:26

Chiara Kreuzer (AUT)

She won’t be entirely happy with that. With 112 meters, Kreuzer is initially in third place, but in training she was able to do significantly better jumps on the hill.

13:25

Jerneja Brecl (SLO)

But now there is the first really wide sentence! The Slovenian makes a nice exit from the take-off table, only has to make one visible intervention in the air and sails down to 123 meters. She now takes the lead ahead of her teammate Vtic.

13:24

Abigail Strate (CAN)

In Hinzenbach, Abigail Strate was able to convince with strong jumps. The big jumps on the large hill in Lillehammer are yet to come. Same now. She will certainly not be completely satisfied with 110 meters after she was able to fight for the podium in Hinzenbach.

13:23

Selina Friday (GER)

For the next and already last German starter, it is first down again from the starting bar. The wind has died down now and even comes slightly from behind. As a result, the jury has no chance of intervening in the competition again and enlarging the start hatch. For Friday it will start from Gate 14. Accordingly, it then receives deductions in the gate compensation. Freitag comes to the table with good speed, but cannot take it into the jump. She jumps far too much with her upper body, the skis are too steep and after 92.5 meters the jump is over again.

13:20

Julia Kykkenen (FIN)

Julia Kykkänen also has to give up early. It’s good in the air, but at 91 meters it doesn’t go that far. Currently in ninth place, she leaves frustrated.

13:18

Lara Malsiner (ITA)

Lara Malsiner cannot keep up and the Italian has to land in the snow after 98 meters.

13:17

Karolina Indrackova (CZE)

The updraft has increased a bit lately and so Karolina Indrackova has to get down from the starting bar again. When the wind doesn’t calm down, it finally goes down a gate. How much does Indrackova make from gate twelve? 102.5 meters. She sits in fourth place.

13:14

Luisa Gorlich (GER)

Luisa Görlich can also continue her solid training results. Sure, her 114.5 meters will not be enough to place herself in the top ranks, but for her personally she is clearly in the area that she can currently achieve. She is now second, 5.3 points behind Vtic.

13:13

Maja Vtic (SLO)

Maja Vtic shows that she doesn’t want to give up her place in the Slovenian team that easily. The experienced athlete from Slovenia climbs the skis a bit steeply after the table and thus gains height, but she still puts down the first really good distance with 115.5 meters.

13:12

Julia Clair (FRA)

Julia Clair already has a lot more experience and has already been able to celebrate some successes on large facilities. But this season it just doesn’t fit together for her and despite a nice updraft it’s over after 92 meters. She won’t be happy there.

13:11

Jenny Rautionaho (FIN)

With the first athletes, the uncertainty sometimes jumps with it. Jenny Rautionaho doesn’t go fully out after the jump, stands very round over her bars and can’t build up a good air cushion. At 90.5 meters, it will be far behind.

13:10

Nicole Konderla (POL)

The next young Pole is already on the right track. Unlike the men, Poland slept through the development for a long time and only started to focus on women’s ski jumping very late. A circumstance that is still evident in the World Cup. Koderla also has to land early at 99 meters and will not land far ahead today.

13:09

Kinga Rajda (POL)

Kinga Rajda also loses a few meters due to a very open system and a lot of skis, but is courageous and can offer the first set over the 100 meters with 105 meters.

13:09

Haruka Iwasa (JPN)

Haruka Iwasa is already approaching 100 meters and for the Japanese it will be 97.5 meters. So Komar is already rid of her peak.

13:08

Katra Komar (SLO)

Katra Komar ensures a change at the top with a leap to 96 meters. She takes 8.3 points from Norstedt. But the top starter will also be able to easily jump over this distance.

13:07

Josephine Laue (GER)

Of course, Josephin Laue also lacks the experience on the really big hills and so she cannot offer the first jump over the 100 meters here either. The skis are set up very steeply after the take-off and it slows them down. It will be 92.5 meters for the first DSV starter.

13:06

Astrid Norstedt (SWE)

While her teammate managed to catch up with the world leaders this season, Astrid Norstedt is having a much harder time. But after 92 meters they are at least in first position.

13:05

Karoline Skatvedt (NOR)

Karoline Skatvedt is the first athlete from the Norwegian team. She comes off the table strong, but in the end she can’t jump the 100 meters either.

13:04

Natalie Eilers (CAN)

Natalie Eilers does not quite get into the right flying position after the jump and after that the young Canadian has a lot to do. With 86.5 meters she stays behind Wiegele.

13:03

Hannah Wiegele (AUT)

What does Hannah Wiegele follow? She doesn’t have the big distance that we’ll see later from the best athletes either. She lays 86.5 meters in the slope.

13:01

Nicole Maurer (CAN)

Nicole Maurer from the Canadian team starts the qualifying round. But you can still tell the respect for the big jumps. Despite great conditions, it will be a timid 76 meters at the start.

12:59 p.m

37 athletes registered

By the way, today’s athletes are not concerned with participating in the competition that follows tonight. Only 37 starters are registered, so all of them will be there again later. Nevertheless, the qualification is of course of great value, since the jump will also count for the overall ranking.

12:56

Kramer dominates training sessions

In the training sessions, Marita Kramer showed the best jumps. The first training came Marita Kramer on 134.5 meters. Behind her follow Nika Kriznar and Ursa Bogataj. In the second practice, Kramer added 129.5 meters and finished ahead of Sara Takanashi and Kriznar.

12:51

Takanashi returns to the World Cup

After the Winter Olympics and the suit scandal, Sara Takanashi became quiet. The Japanese ski jumper was mentally attacked by her disqualification and according to some media reports there was even a career end in the room. The fans should be all the happier that Takanashi is back in the squad for the Japanese.

12:46 p.m

The Austrian squad

The Austrian team is in full strength at the inrun. Marita Kramer in particular has the chance to grab the big prize money from her ranks. But Lisa Eder also presented herself in a strong form recently. Now it will be interesting to see what she can deliver on the big hills. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, Eva Pinkelnig as well as Chiara Kreuzer and Hannah Wiegele will complete the team.

12:39 p.m

Only three German starters

The German team had hoped until the end that Katharina Althaus and Juliane Seyfarth would be able to jump again, but the two athletes are still out after a positive corona test. So the team is also shrinking on the Raw Air Tour. With Josephin Laue, Luisa Görlich and Selina Freitag, three athletes are starting in today’s qualification.

12:34

Raw Air Tour returns

After the early cancellation in 2020 and the compulsory Corona break last winter, the Raw Air Tour is back this year. The athletes can expect a shortened version of the tour, which is still tough. A total of five competitions and four qualifications are scheduled for the women in Lillehammer and Oslo over the next few days. Including a catch-up competition for the canceled show jumping in Sapporo. As a result, the prize money for the women ski jumpers is also higher than that for the men for the first time: 80,000 euros will be paid out.

12:27

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the start of this year’s women’s Raw Air Tour. From 1:00 p.m., part one of the competition series begins with the qualification.
