Ski jumping: Olympic champion Ursa Bogataj flies away from everyone in the World Cup – ski jumping – winter sports

Olympic champion Ursa Bogataj has won the first women’s ski jumping World Cup after the Beijing Winter Games. The Slovenian won in Upper Austria’s Hinzenbach ahead of her compatriot Nika Kriznar and Austria’s Lisa Eder.

First World Cup victory – and clearly so

Bogataj was the only jumper to break the 90 meter mark in the first round. After a 93-meter jump, she followed it up with another 92 meters on the second jump. She won the show jumping in Hinzenbach with a clear lead of 22 points. Almost unbelievable: In her 153rd World Cup it was her first victory ever.

DSVteam missed top ten-places

The ski jumpers of the German Ski Association (DSV) clearly missed the top places. Luisa Görlich, Selina Freitag and Anna Rupprecht ended up beyond the top ten. Görlich provided the best placement in 19th place.
