Ski jumping | Olympic champion Lundby ends her career

The Norwegian Olympic ski jumping champion Maren Lundby has ended her active competitive sports career. The Norwegian Ski Association confirmed this on its website.

The 29-year-old Lundby won Olympic gold in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in 2018 and also secured the World Cup title in 2019 and 2021. She won the overall World Cup three times.

Lundby voluntarily skipped the 2021/22 Olympic season because, in his own words, it was “a few kilos too heavy for the highest level”. She then made a strong comeback with two World Cup medals in 2023 in Planica, Slovenia. Lundby jumped her first world championship in 2009 when she was 14 years old.
