Ski jumping live: Yamagata HS 102 Super Team (women) in the live ticker | 01/20/2024 08:30

09:19

Canada

But Abigail Strate immediately follows up with an extremely long jump! The Canadian comes out great at the top, lays well over the crossbar in the air and goes down to 97 meters. Canada is now more than 40 points ahead of the team from Germany.

09:19

Germany

Now it’s back to the German team. What can Juliane Seyfarth deliver? She also improves in the first round, even if the jump doesn’t fit perfectly again, and delivers the 90 meters.

09:18

France

The chaos at the start seems to have been cleared up and now we are back in the right order with Emma Chervet and France. The young athlete can improve again in the first round and go down to 87 meters.

09:17

Italy

Jessica Malsiner follows at the same time and is able to put 84.5 meters in the snow. This means that your team is also guaranteed to take part in the finals.

09:15

USA

It is currently not clear why there was a delay. Either there was something wrong with the track or there was just confusion about the order. Now it’s not with Italy that continues, but with the USA and Paige Jones. But she doesn’t let the confusion bother her and delivers a good 86 meters.

09:15

Break again

There is another interruption in Zao and Jessica Malsiner is taken off the beam again. Why is currently not clear, as the wind conditions are actually stable. There is currently a lot of radio activity going on at the coaching tower.

09:12

Finland

There seems to be problems with the USA and Italy, because now it’s Julia Kykkänen’s turn for Finland. But it can’t cope again and lands after 73 meters.

09:10

Switzerland

Like Poland, Switzerland will probably be one of the teams that will have to say goodbye after the second round. With 82.5 meters with a tailwind, Emely Torazza delivers another nice jump.

09:09

Poland

After several minutes, the helpers on the run-up finally managed it and got the starting beam out of the anchorage in order to move the hatch upwards. Natalia Slowik opens the second round with 71.5 meters.

09:05

There is a delay

The second round starts with a small delay because there is a problem with the starting bar, which needs to be changed. Several people are currently shaking things up, but nothing is happening.

08:57

Slovenia leads

After the first round, Slovenia leads the results list in a tight super team. The duo is 4.3 points ahead of Austria. Canada is 9.4 points behind in third place, ahead of Japan and Norway. Germany finds itself in sixth position, already 34.6 points behind. The Swiss can be found on the eleven. Romania was eliminated. The second round continues at 9:04 a.m.

08:54

Austria

Eva Pinkelnig draws the line under the first round and the ÖSV jumper does so with an announcement! With the longest jump in this round at 96 meters, her team stayed with it after the first jumps and took second place.

08:54

Slovenia

Nika Prevc is currently in exceptional form and almost every jump the 18-year-old has made is working. Today Prevc once again jumps out of the same mold and sails down to 94.5 meters. The grades are okay and Slovenia can already set itself 9.4 points ahead of Canada.

08:52

Japan

How are things going for Japan? It’s not enough for Canada with Yuki Ito either, but after her 90.5 meters the team definitely stays in the game of winning. Only 4.7 points are missing from first position.

08:52

Norway

Thea Minyan Bjørseth had a good individual competition yesterday, but today the 20-year-old didn’t get off to the start she would have liked. The jump doesn’t quite come together in the first few meters when she wants to do too much and after 88.5 meters she is now 12.9 points behind the Canadians.

08:51

Canada

Now the gap towards Germany is already widening again! Alexandria Loutitt clenches her fist on the exit and with 93.5 meters with a tailwind she ensures that she will keep Canada in the fight for victory.

08:50

Germany

Selina Freitag doesn’t have it easy because of the conditions and she goes over the Bakken with a light tailwind. What can she get out of this? Some. Freitag shows one of her best jumps and manages 91.5 meters. It just misses France.

08:50

France

Josephine Pagnier doesn’t let up and with a jump of 92.5 meters the French team now overtakes the USA.

08:48

Finland

There seems to be something wrong with the team from Finland today. After Kykkänen couldn’t deliver her best jump, Jenny Rautionaho also made technical errors. At 89.5 meters it was certainly enough for the second round, but not enough to place ahead of the USA.

08:48

Italy

Lara Malsiner goes 90 meters down, but after poor marks she can’t get past the US team again. 4.9 points are now missing from the US duo.

08:47

Romania

That’s a bit of a surprise. Daniela Haralambie can’t cope at all, has a lot of problems in the air and has to intervene a lot. After 78 meters she can’t ensure that it’s at least enough for the second round. Romania is likely to be eliminated.

08:46

USA

Annika Belshaw ensures that the USA remains confidently in the top eight. When there is almost no wind, she gets along really well and can deliver a really good set at 90 meters. It passes the Swiss duo into first position with more than 30 points.

08:45

Switzerland

Switzerland is currently on course for the second round and Sina Arnet is now ensuring that it will definitely work out with her jump to 80.5 meters.

08:44

Poland

Anna Twardosz opens the second group with a jump that can certainly give her a positive outlook on the competition. After 82.5 meters she puts her skis in the snow.

08:41

Austria

Jacqueline Seifriedsberger completes the first group for the Austrian team and she also ensures that her team stays in business! After 93.5 meters and three times of 17.5 in posture, the ÖSV team is in third place and is only 3.6 points behind. After the first group, Slovenia leads ahead of Japan and Austria. Germany, however, is already behind in ninth place, more than 27 points behind.

08:41

Slovenia

It remains a close affair in Zao! Nika Kriznar is the next athlete to push off the beam and she also goes far down the jump. After 95 meters and good grades, she ensures another change in leadership.

08:40

Japan

Sara Takanashi doesn’t want to leave it like this! The 27-year-old gets away from the table really well, lies flawlessly over her crossbars and, after 95 meters, makes the longest jump of the round so far into the snow. With 2.7 points, it narrowly overtakes Canada into first position.

08:39

Norway

Silje Opseth seems to be slowly finding her form again, as she too is now on a really nice stretch. After 92.5 meters, she ensures that Norway becomes the Canadian team’s first pursuer by just a narrow margin.

08:38

Canada

Abigail Strate shows that she and her teammate have a lot planned today! The jump fits together well and with 93 meters it puts the Canadian team clearly in first place!

08:37

Germany

How does the German team start the competition? Juliane Seyfarth isn’t aiming for the top, but the experienced athlete doesn’t leave too much behind with the previous teams either. After 83 meters, the DSV duo found themselves in fourth place, 2.7 points behind. How much the jump is worth remains to be seen, as Canada is the next nation to follow.

08:36

France

Emma Chervet still has little experience in the World Cup, but is now showing quite a jump. With a touch from behind, she can still get 82 meters out and thanks to the plus points, she is only 2.6 points short of the USA.

08:35

Finland

Julia Kykkänen, on the other hand, is likely to be disappointed, as we have seen significantly better performances from the Finn recently. With 80 meters and mixed grades, the gap to the front is already clearer.

08:35

Italy

Italy is at the start today with the two Malsiner sisters. The youngest sister is starting today. With 84.5 meters she brings her team close to the US team.

08:34

Romania

Delia Anamaria Folea still has little experience in the World Cup and often fails to qualify. She can’t provide much for her teammate today either and with 69 meters she heads back towards the slope early.

08:33

USA

Paige Jones is coping better and is showing that her performance curve is slowly increasing. With 86 meters, their nation is easily at the top of the rankings.

08:32

Switzerland

Emely Torazza is the next athlete to take over the hill for Switzerland. The 19-year-old can’t quite get into the right flying position and after 78.5 meters she has to land again early.

08:31

Poland

Today’s competition begins with the team from Poland, who continue to struggle to put together a capable team in women’s ski jumping. For the young Natalia Slowik it goes down to 73.5 meters with a slight updraft.

08:24

Swiss women fight for the final

For the young team from Switzerland with Sina Arnet and Emely Torazza, the goals are smaller. For both of them, participation in the final of the best eight nations will certainly be the benchmark for today.

08:17

What’s going on for Austria?

The team from Austria certainly had more planned today. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Eva Pinkelnig will form a duo today and put pressure on Slovenia.

08:09

Germany only outsiders

The German duo, on the other hand, is clearly in the outsider role today, after the really big leaps have so far failed to materialize. Pauline Heßler recently had to end her season early due to a herniated disc. Selina Freitag and Juliane Seyfarth, who achieved the best results in the individual jumping yesterday, are the team’s starters.

08:04

Favorite role clearly assigned

The role of the favorites should clearly be assigned today. Nika Prevc from Slovenia is currently in great shape and her teammate Nika Kriznar has also done excellently on the hill in the Zao ski resort so far. So it will be difficult to beat the team from Slovenia. The biggest challengers are likely to be the Canadians, who are suited to today’s format as they have two strong athletes in Loutitt and State, while there is still a gap behind them.

07:59

Super team competition is coming up

The ski jumpers are taking part in their first team competition of the winter today in Yamagata. In the super team, which was introduced for the first time last winter, two athletes per nation compete and jump three runs. In the first round the field is reduced to twelve nations. In the second round, further screening takes place and only the eight best teams are allowed to compete in the final.

Welcome!
