16:55
5:03 p.m. it continues
The second round is scheduled to continue at 5:03 p.m. This will then be opened by the Russian Kristina Prokopeva.
16:55
Austria has the podium in view
In the meantime, the Austrian team was only in sixth place. But then Marita Kramer towered over everyone with her giant jump of over 144 meters. With that she brought Austria back into the fight for the podium. Stefan Kraft couldn’t build on that, but managed to stay in touch. The jump onto the podium is still possible for the women and men from Austria. Only twelve points are missing from second place.
4:50 p.m
Germany in third place after the first round
The German team is in third place after the first round. The Norwegians in front of them, but also the Austrians in fourth place, are not far behind and the team around Karl Geiger has to improve a little in the second round. Katharina Althaus showed a good jump, all other three jumps left room for improvement.
4:50 p.m
Slovenia by a large margin
The Slovenians are showing really good competition. All four jumpers did well and rightly lead by a wide margin in front of Norway and Germany. The Finns were the only nation not to make it into the second round. In the end they had to admit defeat to Russia.
16:43
Austria (AUT)
Stefan Kraft finishes the first round. After his self-imposed training break, he continues to struggle and comes to 130 meters. This put the Austrians in fourth place in the interim ranking after the first round.
16:42
Slovenia (SLO)
A lot of things now fit together when Anze Lanisek jumps. He slides down the slope and extends the lead for the Slovenians. Great result!
16:40
Germany (GER)
We can now see how good Marius Lindvik’s performance is. Karl Geiger, the World Cup leader, pushes himself into the inrun track. He is slightly late at the take-off table and then comes off twisted. Nevertheless, he manages 132.5 meters and that shows his current quality.
16:39
Norway (NOR)
Marius Lindvik is currently the best jumper in the Norwegian team. He shows that again here and pulls his jump down to a good 138 meters.
16:38
Japan (JPN)
Yukiya Sato gets more run-up. The wind has shifted a bit and is coming more from the side. With 128.5 meters he is quite satisfied. The posture grades around 17.5 could definitely get a little better.
16:36
Poland (POL)
Dawid Kubacki also had to take a break due to a positive corona test. He shows a mixed jump here and is not satisfied with 119.5 meters. After the take-off movement, the first third of the flight is too steep and it takes too long to find its flight position.
16:35
Russia (RUS)
Aleksandr Bazhenov waits too long with the jump movement and leaves many meters behind. 111 meters mean the second round for Russia. They were able to assert themselves against the Finland.
16:34
France (FRA)
Mathis Contamine is here to gain experience. The Frenchman shows a good disposition to fly, although he has to land at 109.5 meters. But the French will definitely be there in the second round.
16:32
Finland (FIN)
Eetu Merilaeinen opens the last lap of the first round. From the starting hatch ten he only climbs 106.5 meters. So things don’t look too good for the Finns as far as the second round is concerned.
16:31
Austria (AUT)
All eyes are now on Sarah Marita Kramer. The World Cup leader is in excellent form and also has a technically perfect jump here. It takes flight and descends to 144.5 meters. Austria has thus fought its way up to third place.
4:30 p.m
Slovenia (SLO)
Ursa Bogotaj does it a lot better than before Juliane Seyfarth. 124.5 meters mean the lead in front of the German mixed team.
16:29
Germany (GER)
Will Juliane Seyfarth break the knot? It’s too late at the take-off, but can improve a bit compared to the prologue. With 111 meters she holds the position, but she can hardly put the other two nations under pressure.
16:28
Norway (NOR)
Silje Opseth is a very good pilot. She can also impressively demonstrate that on the large hill. With 132 meters she manages a really good jump and Norway takes the lead.
16:27
Japan (JPN)
Kaori Iwabuchi does not show a flawless vault, but she manages to make the most of it. With 115.5 meters, Japan is already lagging behind Germany, although they have not yet started the third round.
16:25
Poland (POL)
Nicole Konderla only shows one set at a good 88 meters. This is indicative of her season, in which she has not yet scored any World Cup points.
16:24
Russia (RUS)
Aleksandra Kustova starts for Russia. In less than easy conditions, she jumps to 112 meters. However, the Russians remain eighth.
16:23
France (FRA)
Josephine Pagnier is the best French this winter. Here, too, she shows a solid performance and is very punctual at the take-off table. This is rewarded with 118.5 meters.
16:21
Finland (FIN)
Julia Kykkaenen gets two more hatches than the ladies in the first round. Nevertheless, she has great difficulties with her jump and does not even get into the updraft area. At 87 meters it’s over for the Finn.
16:19
Austria (AUT)
Daniel Huber has to get off the beam again and is allowed to get off the second attempt. Like Kraft, Huber is still looking for his Olympic form. This is also shown by the current jump. With a little less headwind, the Austrian only manages 117 meters.
16:18
Slovenia (SLO)
Cene Prevc, on the other hand, does it a little better. It shows a smooth flight with a solid landing at 133 meters. The Slovenians are five points ahead of the Germans.
16:17
Germany (GER)
Markus Eisenbichler did not hit the jump optimally. Due to the lead from the first lap, 129.5 meters are enough to take the lead.
16:16
Norway (NOR)
How good is the width of Zyla? Halvor Egner Granerud will test this directly. He can’t quite match the Pole’s jump either, but 137.5 meters is enough to put Norway within striking distance.
16:15
Japan (JPN)
Naoki Nakamura wants to repeat Zyla’s jump. However, the Japanese cannot use the support at all in the last third of the flight and literally falls down at 119.5 meters.
16:14
Poland (POL)
Piotr Zyla is back in competition after his corona infection. The veteran throws a real sentence and manages a total of 141 meters. The joy in the outlet is huge.
16:13
Russia (RUS)
Mikhail Maksimochkin is more into the Continental Cup. 98.5 meters and poor posture grades around 15.0 currently mean the last place for Russia.
16:11
France (FRA)
Valentin Foubert does it a little better, but is far from able to utilize the possibilities of the hill. It will be 97 meters for the 19-year-old. Especially in the flight phase, the Frenchman still has some room for improvement.
16:10
Finland (FIN)
Arttu Pohjola starts with the men. From the start hatch nine it goes from the beam, which is far too short a start for the Finn. Pohjola only comes to a meager 87.5 meters.
16:08
Austria (AUT)
How much goes for the Austrians? Eva Pinkelnig doesn’t get along at all. She comes off the take-off twisted and only gets to 108.5 meters. Austria is already losing important points in the fight for the podium. It’s a whole 40 points behind the leaders.
16:07
Slovenia (SLO)
Ema Klinec, the world champion on the normal hill, has also already found her flying system. She can pull her jump down to 124.5 meters.
16:06
Germany (GER)
Katharina Althaus opens the competition for the German team. She also does well on the large hill and puts Germany in a good starting position. With a distance of 126 meters and posture grades of around 18.0, they are only 0.4 points behind the Japanese.
16:05
Norway (NOR)
Thea Minyan Bjoerseth cannot match the width of the Japanese. She comes away from the take-off twisted and has to lose crucial meters as a result. 103.5 meters are enough for second place.
16:04
Japan (JPN)
Yuki Ito has shown the longest jump in training. How far do they go in the competition? Very far! She manages extremely well on the Mühlenkopfschanze and shows an almost perfect jump. With 130.5 meters, Japan is now at the top with a very large lead.
16:03
Poland (POL)
Kinga Rajda gets a better jump. She moves up to second place with 98 meters.
16:02
Russia (RUS)
Not much fits together with Kristina Prokopeva. She is one of the weaker jumpers today and does not get past 85.5 meters.
16:01
France (FRA)
It’s Julia Clair’s turn and she’s struggling. She hasn’t found her system on this hill yet and has to land at 91.5 meters.
15:55
Finland (FIN)
It starts at the Mühlenkopfschanze, where no spectators are allowed again today. Jenny Rautionaho opens the competition for Finland from gate 14. With an upwind she sets the first distance at 99 meters. There is definitely more to come on the largest large hill in the World Cup.
15:41
ÖSV with many possibilities
The Austrians are also in a good position. They used Eva Pinkelnig as the starting jumper, who should put her team in a good starting position. Daniel Huber should judge second, before Marita Kramer and Stefan Kraft come into play. Marita Kramer is in great form again and is currently the women’s World Cup leader. There is still a question mark over Stefan Kraft’s form. From a win to elimination in qualifying, he has already shown everything this season.
15:41
Team Germany
For the German mixed team, today’s nomination should already be a dress rehearsal with a view to the Olympic Games. This year, for the first time, a mixed team competition will also be held there. Katharina Althaus will be the first. She is followed by Markus Eisenbichler, who is currently jumping in good form. Juliane Seyfarth will be the third member to leave the beam before Karl Geiger completes the quartet.
15:36
Nine Nations
A total of nine nations are starting today. In addition to the favored nations from Austria, Germany, Slovenia and Norway, the Japanese, Poland, Russia, France and Finland also compete. The Japanese will not use their strongest jumper Ryoyu Kobayashi.
15:27
Warm welcome
Hello and welcome to today’s team mixed competition in Willingen. The last World Cup weekend before the Olympic Games in Beijing starts at 4 p.m. with the first round of the team competition.
