Ski jumping live: FIS Ski Flying World Championship HS 240 Team Day 3 in the live ticker | 03/13/2022 16:30

16:40

Finland

The second group of the first round starts with one more hatch. From there it runs really well and he can sail down to 222 meters. This is a new personal record for him. The joy in the exercise area is correspondingly huge for the 24-year-old.

16:38

Austria

Michael Hayböck completes the first group. He has similar conditions as Forfang and Freund before, what can he deliver with that. A decent width too. After 216 meters the Austrians start in second place and are only 6.7 points behind Norway.

16:37

Germany

It is Severin Freund’s turn for the German team. Can he also keep the team on course? Yes! At 211.5 meters, he can even sail over the expanse of Forfang and still takes good grades with him. This put the DSV team in third place ahead of Norway.

16:36

Norway

Johann Andre Forfang didn’t get along at all in the rehearsal. Can he shake that off now that it matters? The 24-year-old comes through better at the top and can show the 210.5 meters. Of course, that’s not enough for Slovenia, but his team is still 13 points behind. Japan is in between, but they don’t have four strong starters.

16:34

Slovenia

Now it is the turn of the first jumper from the big favorite. Domen Prevc also shows why. As usual, he starts his flight with a lot of aggressiveness and speed and lies deep between the bars. It will be 222 meters and thus the lead in front of Japan.

16:33

Japan

What can Yukiya Sato do about it? The Japanese has been strong in previous rounds here, but now has to show what he can do with a tailwind. And that’s not bad at all. At 215.5 meters, he can fly the expanse of Zyla. Japan just overtakes.

16:32

Poland

Piotr Zyla starts for the Polish team and he has a really difficult time with a tailwind. He tries everything and can still get the 210.5 meters out for his team.

16:31

Finland

Antti Aalto opens the team decision in Vikersund for the Finnish team. With hardly any wind support, however, Aalto has a hard time and can’t get more than 169 meters.

16:24

look at the sample

In the rehearsal it was clearly the Slovenians who dominated the field. If you add up the points from the test, the Slovenians would have scored 529.4 points and would have been 127.2 points ahead of Austria. The German team was third overall, followed by Poland and Norway, where Forfang completely screwed up his test jump.

16:19

Austrians hot for a medal

The team from Austria should also be hot for a medal. Here the coaches decided to put one of their stronger athletes in the first group. Michael Hayböck begins, followed by Ulrich Wohlmentioned. Manuel Fettner jumps in third position. Stefan Kraft, who won bronze yesterday, will be the final jumper.

16:15

The German team

The DSV team had hoped for more from the Ski Flying World Championships and nobody could compete for the medals in the individual competitions. Today, however, the opportunity is there, even if the competition is fierce. Severin Freund and Andreas Wellinger should open for the quartet. Third place was taken by Markus Eisenbichler, who beat Constantin Schmid. Karl Geiger, who showed long flights on Saturday, should graduate.

16:08

Slovenia the top favourite

The team from Slovenia is the clear top favourite. Domen Prevc, Anze Lanisek, Timi Zajc and Peter Prevc were all in the top 6 in the individual decision yesterday and if you add up the individual results from Saturday, then the quartet would have won gold with a clear lead over the competition. Slovenia also dominated today’s trial run and the four starters took places one to four. Behind it, the field is more open. Norway, Germany and Austria belong to the inner circle around the medals.

16:01

Competition despite only seven teams

There was brief confusion in Vikersund before the weekend when it became clear that only seven teams would also report for the team decision. Because the regulations of the FIS stipulate that at least eight teams must take part in order for a team competition to take place. In the end, however, the International Ski Association suspended this rule, so that today, despite a small starting field, it is all about medals.
