Zak Mogel (SLO)
Zak Mogel from Slovenia shows why the ski jump was built so wide. In flight, it drifts extremely far to the right and almost has to be careful not to crash into the barriers when landing. With 200 meters and poor posture grades, he occupies the last place.
14:26
Ulrich Wohlmentioned (AUT)
It continues with the first Austrian today. Ulrich Wohlmentioned misses his chances in the first third of the flight and is too steep in the air. 199 meters is the first jump under the 200-meter mark and so it will be more than close with a second round today.
14:25
Robert Johansson (NOR)
Robert Johansson isn’t bursting with confidence right now, but ski flying really suits him. When jumping, he jumps off clearly to the right side, but can then find his way into his flight system. With scores of around 18.0 and 220.5 meters, he ranks second behind the Italian Bresadola.
14:24
Constantine Schmid (GER)
Constantin Schmid would like to fly a little further. However, he has to work a lot in flight and thus loses important meters. At 201.5 meters it is currently the shortest distance for the German.
14:23
Stephan Leyhe (GER)
The German double pack is coming. Stephan Leyhe is the first. He shows a confident jump without any visible mistakes. However, he remains stuck at 210.5 meters and will have to tremble a little as far as the second round is concerned.
14:22
Artti Aigro (EST)
How far does Artti Aigro go? He hits the jump cleanly, but after that not much is possible. He almost seems to stop in flight and so he just crosses the 200 meter mark. He shakes his head and is not satisfied with his performance.
14:21
Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal (NOR)
Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal shows a slight right bias in flight. Nevertheless, the inrun length is right and so far all participants have been able to enjoy flying. 214 meters currently means fourth place for the Norwegian.
14:20
Yevhen Marusiak (UKR)
The Ukrainian Yevhen Marusiak inspires the entire ski jumping nation this weekend. With 210 meters he already set a new Ukrainian record. He’s a bit late on this jump and a wobble on landing will cost him valuable points. Nevertheless, he sets the boards again at 210 meters in the snow.
14:19
Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes (CAN)
Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes does well off the take-off but gets too tense in flight. He cannot use the air cushion and therefore has to land at 202 meters.
14:17
Peter Prevc (SLO)
Peter Prevc is the next to get off the beam. He is aiming for the best distance and cannot pull his flight all the way down. At 218 meters it’s over for him and then he loses his balance in the outrun. However, the fall only begins behind the fall line, so that this has no effect on the judges.
14:16
Naoki Nakamura (JPN)
For the time being there is no shortened run-up before Naoki Nakamura. The Japanese is also doing well and is happy about 219.5 meters in the outrun. He shows his best flight so far this weekend.
14:16
Giovanni Bresadola (ITA)
The Italian Giovanni Bresadola starts the first round. If the weather is perfect, you can start from hatch 16. He’s in a great position in the air and he’s really flying. With a distance of 225.5 meters, the jury will probably have to react quickly.
14:06
Swiss duo on
The picture is different for ski jumpers from Switzerland. Gregor Deschwanden was a good 13th in the qualification and Dominik Peter, a second Swiss, made it through to the first round. Simon Ammann and Kilian Peier could not assert themselves against the competition and will not get a chance of World Cup points in the second individual competition.
14:03
Entire ÖSV team achieves qualification
The ÖSV-Adler made it through the qualification. Above all, Stefan Kraft got the highest number of points with a flight of 225.5 meters. Manuel Fettner, Philipp Aschenwald, Ulrich Wohlmentioned, Maximilian Steiner, Jan Hörl and Clemens Leitner also made it into the first round.
1:50 p.m
Slimmed down German team
The German squad had to lose feathers in the qualification. Since only 40 jumpers qualify for ski flying, Pius Paschke as 46th and Justin Lisso as 50th are doomed to watch. Andreas Wellinger was once again convincing, finishing just one place behind Granerud in qualifying. Markus Eisenbichler can also be found in the top ten again. In addition, we will see Stephan Leyhe and Constantin Schmid again in competition. As was the case yesterday, Karl Geiger and Philipp Raimund will not be taking part in ski flying, as they are doing a joint training session with national coach Stefan Horngacher.
13:42
Granerud back at the top
The second of the two ski flights at the Kulm is on the program. Halvor Egner Granerud was able to convince yesterday. With the win, the Norwegian also snatched the yellow jersey from Poland’s Dawid Kubacki and is now the new leader in the overall World Cup standings. He’s certainly one of the top favorites for victory again today. In the qualification that just ended a few moments ago, Granerud secured fourth place.
Warm welcome
Hello and welcome to the men’s individual competition from Bad Mitterndorf! The live ticker starts in good time before the start of the jumping.
