After Oberstdorf (December 29th) and Garmisch-Partenkirchen (January 1st), the jumps in Innsbruck on January 4th and Bischofshofen on January 6th will take place without an audience, like the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) on Thursday (December 23rd, 2021 ) announced.
7,500 fans were planned
The reason for this is the new Omikron variant. “We regret this decision for the fans and active players, but we want to support the government in their efforts as best as possible”, wrote the organizers.
Initially, 4,000 (Innsbruck) and 3,500 (Bischofshofen) spectators were planned. But not only the Four Hills Tournament is affected, but also other alpine skiing and snowboarding competitions that take place in Flachau, Zauchensee, Bad Gastein and on the Simonhöhe. One is “Confident that all other World Cup events in Austria can also be held as sports and media events as planned”, it was said.
