At the women’s New Year’s tournament, Katharina Althaus, Selina Freitag and Anna Rupprecht let the DSV team cheer. But again an Austrian celebrated the victory
The ski jumpers are on a New Year’s tour: In the second competition in the competition for the “Golden Owl”, however, the Austrian Eva Pinkelnig again took the win.
Althaus flies onto the podium
Anna Rupprecht, who started on her 26th birthday and was already on course for a podium place after the first round with team colleague Katharina Althaus (92/92.5m) behind the previous day’s winner Pinkelnig (94.5/94.5m). With 88.5 meters she slipped down to fifth place.
Althaus, on the other hand, was able to show a strong jump in the second round. However, the girl from Oberstdorf couldn’t get past Pinkelnig and finished second.
One could also congratulate Selina Freitag (95/92.5 m) on a very good competition. The 21-year-old narrowly missed the podium in fourth place, but contributed to the strong team result of the German jumpers.
Good result for Görlich and Hessler
Luisa Görlich (88/84m) jumped into the top 20, Pauline Hessler (87/83m), who couldn’t do better in her second jump, also scored World Cup points with a place in the top 30.
Next stop Ljubno
At the weekend, the athletes will continue with two more competitions in Ljubno, Slovenia.
